Pedicures with Skylar

For Skylar's 6th birthday and also for the cruise, I took Skylar to get her second ever pedicure.  She is addicted.  She loves them (so do I)  This is something special we can do together before her sister is allowed to join us.  I'm a little hesitant to take Larissa because of her exzema.  She gets really bad break outs on her feet and I don't know how her skin will react to the different waters and lotions they use.  So for now it's me and Skylar.  We give Larissa her own special pedicures here at home with lotions I know she can handle.

Silly kids

After Skylar's birthday party the girls decided to continue on with the festivities.  First Larissa played Bingo with her babies.

they are still down there playing party.  I wonder how long this will last.

I think I'm having more fun than the girls with this thing.  Ha ha.  Actually Skylar has been playing with this a lot since she got it for her birthday.  I was bringing it upstairs to put away when I decided to play with it a bit.  It's pretty cool.  It has everything, a dance floor with a piano player and singer, dining tables, game tables, a pool, elevator, captains table, bridge, aquarium and even 3 staterooms.  There are also spots for the passengers to lounge on the decks.  It's pretty neat.

Skylar''s birthday party

Today was Skylar's 6th birthday party.  We invited her class and about 6 kids from her class came, as well as 2 friends from preschool and my nephews.  She was thrilled.  She woke up this morning full of anticipation.  We had some running around to do.  We had to get her cupcakes (she was adamant that we get Halloween cupcakes with rings) and her pinata, plus I needed to buy her a few presents.  John took the girls to one side of the store while I went and got her some presents and put them in the car under a blanket.  Luckily this child is not very observant.  She had a fantastic time at her party.  She LOVED all her gifts.  After all the kids left she opened her presents from family.  Again she was super thrilled.  She also had a Halloween party to go to at 5.  I got her dressed up and took her over there.  When I picked her up 2 hours later I saw her shaking her booty at the party.  She was having a blast.  It was a long tiring day though and she was passed out by 8pm.

She is one happy girl today.  Her actual birthday will be on the cruise.  She is super excited about that.

Stop,Drop and Roll

Since October is fire prevention month, both girls visited local firestations this past week.  Larissa went to the Tiffin fire house on Wednesday and Skylar went to the Oxford fire station on Friday.  Both girls came home telling me all about fire safety.  Larissa was completely obsessed with stop, drop and roll on Friday.  She kept doing it over and over and over again all day.  Don't ask why she is wearing a winter hat and gloves, it was in the mid 60's this day.

Halloween decorations

ok, let me preface this by saying I am NOT a crafty person.  The girls love to paint and color though (especially Skylar) so I thought this year we would decorate for Halloween with home made projects.  One day we painted a bunch of paper plates black and then I drew some candy corn and they painted those too.  After everything dried I cut out the candy corn, and cut the black paper plates into bat shapes.  The girls glued the wings on and googly eyes, and then I drew a mouth and fangs.  They turned out cute.  We have 3 hanging in the basement.  We also hung the candy corn up and then the girls also drew some pictures to add to the wall.  They were very proud of their work.  Oh we also made footprint ghosts, those were their favorite.

Build-A-Bear costumes

With Halloween aproaching, I decided to let the girls pick out costumes for their build a bears.  They were really well behaved that day (even with John out of town, and all the errands and appointments we had that day) this was their reward.

Skylar picked a gymnast outfit with some white gym shoes.

Larissa chose a Captain America outfit.  She doesn't even know who he is, but she liked the outfit.

The Diesel Dog

Diesel continues to be a welcome part of our family.  He is loving, goofy, moose of a doggy.  We all love him and he loves us.  Any time one of the kids climbs into a lap, Diesel has to join in.  He loves playing out back with the girls, going to the dog park and just sleeping.
