Where do they get this?
At dinner tonight Skylar had asked for some apple cider. She had never had it before as far as I know, but she tried it. She looks at us and says, well, I can drink it, but I'm not a fan per say.
Skylar ate all her dinner tonight and I still had a piece of chicken left. She looks at me and says, well mom, since you can't finish that, would you mind giving me some of that chicken?
After baths tonight I told them they could go downstairs and play while their hair dried. Larissa opens the door to the basement and said, after you m'lady.
The other day Larissa was playing with the doll house and had all the dolls sitting on the floor. I asked what they were doing and she says, they are all on their squares for story time (something they do at preschool)

Happy early birthday to me
John gave me my birthday present early. I know soda is bad for me but I love it so. I try to limit how much I drink, but I also don't drink coffee and need a little caffeine to get me going in the morning. We also hate taking the cans back to recycle them (I don't mind the recycling aspect, it's physically taking them to the store to feed into the machines that I hate, along with the deposit we have to pay every time we buy soda) So John bought me the soda making machine. We love it. The soda is not nearly as sweet, and we prefer the regular flavors over the diet ones. There is also no HFCS in the sodas. It tastes just like fountain soda, which we both prefer to cans or bottles.
I also got a package of super soft socks. I saw them at Costco yesterday and he went back today to get me some. I love them!!!

decorations
I took advantage of the long weekend to get our christmas decorations up. Since we wont be here for Christmas, I didn't put everything out. The girls wanted the tree up and then I just picked a few of the decorations to put out. The girls were gone while I decorated and then I saved them some ornaments to hang. They also hung the candy canes on the tree.

Roller Skating
This past weekend Skylars Daisy troup had their annual roller skating party. All the girl scout troups in the area attend. There were probably 300 girls there. Skylar has never been on roller skates in her life.
When I was around 2 -3 years old, my mom took me to Mainstreet USA, our local roller rink. Our grade school had a yearly roller skating party, and this was the first time I was brought along. (my sister and brother were in grade school by this time) My mom put some roller skates on me, not sure what would happen. Apparently I had no fear and I took off. My mom said people were amazed to see this small child zipping around the roller rink. I don't quite remember THAT trip, but I do remember being very young and zipping around that roller rink faster than 90% of the people there. I don't remember a time when I was not comfortable on roller skates.
Skylar does not have that talent. ha ha. She spent a LOT of time on her dupah, but she laughed the entire time. She loved every minute of her roller skating adventure, except for 2 falls. Once she fell and hit her knee and elbow but after a 3 minute cry fest and rest, she was ready to get back out there. Another time she fell backwards and strained her shoulder, but got right back up. (she hasn't complained since so she didn't really get hurt) The rest of the time she either scooted along in the practice area and she even ventured into the big rink a few times.
I couldn't get any good pictures of the front of her. She was always moving or I couldn't get in front of her due to the number of people always around. Don't mind the butt crack shots. Her pants kept falling down and we kept hiking them back up.

Random photos from our cruise
Last but not least, here are the rest of the pictures from our cruise.
waiting for the shuttle to the cruise port
waiting in the cruise terminal, there was noro virus on the cruise before ours so they had to do a thorough cleaning. We were delayed boarding for about 3 hours.
exploring our balcony
watching flamenco dancers
waiting for sail away
her bear was ready to go swimming
they made sailor hats at kids club
they also made magnets
St. Thomas, looking at the iguanas
playing mini golf on the ship
enjoying a snack at the international cafe on the ship
witches hat she made at kids club
we got them each a cruise bear
we came on the ship with NO stuffed animals, but somehow left with all these!! The only thing in this picture we brought with us is the pink pillow case and butterfly nightlight.
formal night
for one of the formal nights we all got dressed up and went to the dining room. My mother in law had bought the girls some dresses to wear for christmas at her house and brought them with her. The girls looked adorable. They weren't in the mood to get any of the professional photos on the ship, but they did take some really nice pictures for us. Larissa was in a goofy mood and was striking a pose with every shot.
with Daddy
with Grandma Bonnie and Grandpa Bill
with Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Don (not sure why it's red)
with Mommy
we did get a nice photo at dinner that we ended up buying, but I can't seem to scan it in right now.
Halloween
This year we celebrated Halloween on the Ruby Princess. We spent the morning just like any other day, wandering around the ship, playing at the kids club and swimming. After we took the kids to the buffet for dinner, they got dressed in their costumes and went up to the kids club for a Halloween party. They got their faces painted, played games and then had a parade around the ship where they trick or treated at the different boutiques. They were so cute in their princess costumes (Skylar as Rapunzel and Larissa as Cindarella) Towards the end of the parade Larissa had a little accident and was very upset about it. She had to stay with the kids club though so I went up to the 17th deck to wait for them. They were suppossed to go to a dance party up at Skywalkers Bar, but the girls were exhausted from their full day and I ended up just taking them back to the cabin with me. (I gave them the choice and they both wanted to leave) We cuddled up on the bed and watched some tv instead and then we all went to bed.
