Ah, Fall

The weather has changed.  Monday it was 89.  Tuesday it was 75, today the high was 60.  Tomorrow will be the same as today.  The next week it should stay between 60 and 70.  Fall is one of my favorite seasons.  I am not a huge fan of the heat and humidity.  I much prefer the 60's and 70's.  Tonight after dinner I took the girls outside to play a bit.  We'd better get all the outdoor time in we can before the snow comes.  (I am not a fan of snow either)

After I mowed the lawn the girls helped me sweep the grass off the sidewalk and driveway.  They actually fought over who got to sweep.  I hope they still like to do chores when they get older!!

Skylar didn't want to take her hood down but wanted to ride her bike.

Mom, this is for you, these are 3T jeans, still VERY long on her.  She's got such short little legs.

some school work

The girls have started bringing home some work now.  This week Skylar was studying the letters F and L.  They talked about fish and leaves a lot.

Larissa made this for her sissy today

they also talked about fire safety and read a book about Clifford helping the firemen

Skylar made this for me yesterday.

The girls continue to love school.  Skylar just loves going every day and asks to go on the weekends also.  Larissa is still ok with only going every other day.  As much as she enjoys her time there, she also misses me a lot and wants to stay home a lot.  Mondays are the hardest for her.  We have to convince her to go, but once she gets there she's fine.

knock knock

Skylar came home from school today telling knock knock jokes.  She thinks they're hilarious.

Miss Jordon's birthday

I was informed today that tomorrow is Miss Jordon's birthday.  Miss Jordan is one of the favorite teachers at school.  She teaches the 3 year old class.  Skylar had her last year and Larissa has her this year.  She is only here for the first half of the year and then she goes away to school after Christmas break.  So I asked the girls if they wanted to make her a card for her birthday.  They both said yes.  So we got out the crayons, paper and stickers.  I wrote out the front of Rissy's card for her and then she wwent to town decorating it.  Skylar started writing out her card (I wrote the words on another paper) but got tired of it so I finished it.  She then wrote I love you on the inside and decorated it the rest of the way.  Larissa also decorated about 3 other pieces of paper for her.  Both girls are so proud of their cards and cant wait to bring them tomorrow.

the new Family Room

Well, since I am down 2 day care kids (the Powers have moved) and I haven't found a replacement yet, my days have been a bit slower.  Today the girls had school in the morning and I only had the twins.  They both went down for naps right away and slept right until I had to pick up the girls, so I did a bit of cleaning and rearranging.  I decided that since the weather will be changing soon, I would bring the picnic table, basketball hoop and slide in from outside.  I also brought in some of the little riding toys (mostly for Dexter and Mackenzie to use) I rearranged the downstairs a bit and made different areas.  A kitchen and home area, baby area, fun area (with the hoop, slide and pirate table) and then the pretend play area with all the little people houses and sets, and the train table.

Now I need to make Lisa's Rules and hang them on the wall.  I am getting tired of always cleaning up after they make a mess (the older kids to help but I still end up doing a majority of it) and the oldest two keep claiming they forget the rules every day.  If I have them posted, the 7 year old cant say he didn't know what they are, he can read (not to mention it's been the same rules for the 2 years he's been here)  I will make the posters tomorrow when Skylar is in school, before the oldest two get here.
