Ultimate Balcony Dining

Before going on this cruise John heard about the Ultimate Balcony Dining Experience.  It's a relatively new thing (2 years old) and may not be around long if more people don't do it.  We decided to try it.  We had heard that it was a fun experience and someting you should try once.  We wanted to do it the night we were in Curacao since we would be there until 9pm and thought it would be beautiful to look at the city while dining.  We had some trouble getting through to room service and by the time we did, that night was taken (they only do 1 per night)  We then decided on Sunday night.  That was a mistake.  The seas were really rough that night.  They couldn't set up on the balcony because it was way too windy.  We set up inside and started dinner.  First we got petit fours, then an appetizer of seafood quiche.  Then a salad.  Between the quiche and the salad, the seas got the best of me.  I ended up getting sick, we got paged from the kids club to get the girls, and we ended up cancelling the dinner.  We rescheduled it for the night we left Aruba.  That was a much better night.  Our moms took the girls to the buffet for dinner then sent them to the kids club before joining our dads for dinner.  (this way if the kids club paged us again, they would have the pager!!)

So on round two, we got to set up out on the balcony and enjoy a beautiful sunset while we were served an excellent dinner.

first night

second night

we got a cocktail with dinner.  I got a strawberry daquiri, John got a Belvidere Vodka

it was a little windy, but still beautiful

petit fours

seafood quiche

salad

surf and turf. (biggest lobster tail I have ever seen)

dessert.  4 different mousses

we also got this extra plate of cookies and strawberries

champagne was included also

the "after" plate.  (Johns, mine still had some lobster and half a filet which was later consumed my mother-in-law)

This was a great dinner and experience and I highly recommend it.  I wouldn't do it every time, but once in a while is nice.
