Larissa

this child cracks me up.  Yesterday she was making her Barbies do gymnastics.  here they are doing bridges.

today as I was cleaning up after lunch Rissy was busy putting her babies to nap.  This is what I found.

today she again put all her babies at the table to feed them.  It seems every time she does this, there are more and more babies.  Notice all the different kinds of seats there are now.

Last night I took Skylar to her Daisy meeting and Larissa stayed here with John.  She was upset that she couldn't go with so I said she could play the tablet while I was gone.  She ended up taking some interesting pictures.  Most were just pictures of the wall, ceiling, chair or a real close up of her skin.  Here are the ones that actually have an object in them.

Skylar's first Daisy outing

Skylar had her first Daisy outing this past saturday.  We went to Cedar Rapids to learn about seeds and growing.  When we first got there the girls all colored some pages.  They also had to draw a pictures of what they thought "love my sister, heart" meant.  The winner gets their picture on a Daisy brochure.  Then they put a bunch of different seeds on the table and we all discussed them.  After that we went outside to find shapes in nature.  Then we talked some more about how things grow and then they made a Daisy circle.  She had a lot of fun and can't wait for the next outing.  Unfortunately we will miss the next seminar due to being on the cruise.  There are other outings planned though.  She will go to plenty of them.

new slippers

The girls picked out some new slippers for this winter.  They both got fuzzy Hello Kitty slippers, Skylar in Pink and Larissa in purple.  Skylar decided her feet were cold last night so she put hers on while playing on my tablet.

Daisy's

Last week Skylar had her first Daisy meeting.  She LOVED it.  She got mad at me when i went to pick her up because she was having too much fun.

she has her first field trip for Daisy's this Saturday, so today I went up to Cedar Rapids to get her Daisy vest.  I also got the "starter package", a few badges and pins for her vest as well as her troop number.  I ironed it all on today and I will show her when she gets home.  She is going to be thrilled.

her vest (the patches are not crooked, it's how the vest is laying)

her first project from her meeting, a Daisy with her name on it.

She also made a beeded bracelet that she is wearing at school right now.  She never takes it off.

got to love voice to text

today I received a phone call from Skylar's principal.  He said he had good news and he'd like to call back and leave a voice mail for the whole family to hear.  When ever we get a voice mail, it automatically transcrobes it into an email for both John and I.  Most of the time it gets a few words wrong, but this one was quite funny.

The text I got said, "Hi verbally family Mr. Devorah calling to share some good news with you. Skyler has received a big blue ticket for Mrs. Dubin for being a safe appropriate involved corner and I know that she left so Skyler is a great classroom citizens. She takes pride in all the classroom work and doesn't neatly. She a great friend to repairs and is willing helper. Keep up the great work Skyler and Skyler. My sister would like to thank you, that's what I I wanna encourage you to keep up the great work each and every day. Thanks a lot. Bye"

What it REALLY said is: "Hi Herbaly Family.  Mr. Dvorak calling to share some good news with you.  Skylar has received a big blue ticket from Mrs. Studemann for being a safe, appropriate involved learner.  The note she left says that Skylar is a great classroom citizenm she takes pride in all her classroom work and does it neatly.  She is a great friend to her peers and is a willing helper.  Keep up the good work Skylar.  Skylar, Mrs. Studemann would like to thank you and so would I.  I want to encourage you to keep up the great work each and every day.  Thanks a lot, Bye"

Although that gave me a good laugh, I am really proud of Skylar.  She loves kindergarten and it shows.  She will get a special treat tonight for sure.

fun outdoor time

The weather is beautiful now so we've been playing outside a lot this weekend.  Today Rissy took her baby out with us and drove her in the jeep and rode her on the bike.

all buckled in and ready to ride

the New Park

When we first moved here, the only real park was at the state park, a few iles down the road.  There were some small little park want-to-be's on the other end of town, but they were not nice at all.  That first fall, they built a small park just down the hill behind the gas station.  That was nice because it's walking distance (although the walk back means going up a pretty steep hill)  We spent a lot of time there over the last 3 years, and we also ventured to the state park quite often.  Now this year they built another park by the baseball fields.  it's bigger than Casey's park, but smaller than Kent State Park.  The girls favorite part is the tire swing.  They love the tire swing at the park in NY and now they have one here.

Circus 2012

This is our 4th year taking the girls to the circus in Moline.  Every year they enjoy it more and more.  Larissa still loves the animals, especially the elephants.  She also laughs at the clowns some of the time.  Skylar likes the animals, clowns and acrobats.  Before the show even started she told John he was the best daddy ever and this was the best night ever.  This time for treats Larissa picked an elephant with a baby and Skylar picked a glow wand spinny toy.  This is the first time we've let them get a spinny toy.
