Ft Lauderdale

Before our cruise we stayed for 2 nights in Ft. Lauderdale.  I am glad we did with hurricane Sandy going through the area.  On Saturday we decided to go down to the beach to watch the Oasis of the Seas leave port.  It took us a while to find the beach (the boat show was also going on so it was very crowded anywhere near the water) The surf was also really high.  We finally found a spot to walk down to the beach and while we waited, the girls played in the surf.  We had to keep a hold onto them though because the surf often came far inland and was very strong.  As adults we sometimes had trouble staying upright.  More than once the water took their legs right out from under their bodies.  They all got soaked, but they had so much fun.
